Hickman Award:
Recognizing Best of Show from any Category or Division. Determined by festival Judge Mr. Daniel L’Huillier. Winner receives $100 courtesy of Allegheny Mountain Hardwood Flooring owned by Dennis Hickman. This award is in honor of Harry Hickman, Sr. who was one of the original founders of the Kennerdell Music and Arts Festival. There is a cabin in Wilson Park dedicated to his name as well as the Hickman Memorial Garden.

Marilyn Wingard Award:
Recognizing The People’s Choice from any Category or Division. Determined by the festival attendees. Winner receives $100 courtesy of Guy Wingard in honor of his wife, Marilyn, who passed away in 2005. Although Marilyn’s first love was music, one of her hobbies was painting. She was also an avid gardener. Guy has chosen to honor her memory each year through a generous donation to the Kennerdell Music and Arts Festival. He hopes to eventually create a trust in her name to benefit the festival for years to come.

Robert A. Miller Award:    New Award
The Miller family will be selecting a painting and awarding the artist with $100 in memory of Bob Miller who passed away on July 1, 2007. Bob moved to Kennerdell in 1966 with his wife, Mary. Ironically, he built their home on the Furnass property where the first few Kennerdell festivals were held. They have four children: Bob, Deanna, Mary, and Matthew. Bob loved Kennerdell and enjoyed the festival very much. In the 80’s, he would purchase a painting each year from his favorite artist, Lisa Grossman. Lisa has since moved on and is a very successful artist in Kansas.
